- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon instant coffee or espresso powder optional
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips or chunks optional
