- 1.5 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 0.5 cups sour cream
- 0.25 cups milk
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 0.5 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp salt

Preheat your oven to 175C (350F). Grease and flour a cake mold.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the almond and vanilla extracts.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the sour cream and milk. Make sure the batter is smooth and creamy.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake mold and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow cooling in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
While the cake is cooling, prepare the icing by beating the butter until creamy, then gradually adding the powdered sugar and milk until it reaches desired consistency. Stir in the almond extract.
Once the cake is cool, spread the icing over the top and sides, and sprinkle with flaked almonds if desired.
