Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • Donut Pan
  • Toothpick

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cups milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cups blueberries fresh or frozen

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan generously.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth, then pour into the dry ingredients and stir gently.
  • Gently fold in the blueberries, taking care not to crush them.
  • Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about three-quarters full.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Notes

For an extra touch of decadence, brush the warm donuts with melted butter and dip them in cinnamon sugar. If you're out of fresh blueberries, frozen ones work just as well. To make it dairy-free, swap the milk for almond or oat milk and use coconut oil instead of butter. For improved texture and flavor, consider adding lemon zest to the batter. Store cooled donuts in an airtight container for up to two days or freeze for up to three months.
