Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 24 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce extra to decorate
  • 1 cup apple pie filling
  • 1 chopped apple for garnish
  • q.s. graham cracker crumbs for garnish to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325F (163C) and grease a 9-inch pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup of sugar, and melted butter. Mix until moist and clump together. Press this mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar until smooth and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and sour cream until silky and smooth.
  • Pour half of the cream cheese mixture over the crust. Spoon the apple pie filling over the cream cheese layer and spread a touch of caramel sauce on top. Cover with the remaining cream cheese mixture.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until edges are set but the center has a slight wobble. Cool in the oven with the door ajar for about an hour, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Once chilled, garnish with chopped apples, graham cracker crumbs, and caramel sauce. Slice and serve.
