Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Electric mixer or whisk
  • Spatula
  • Trifle bowl or individual serving glasses
  • Knife for slicing bananas

Ingredients

  • 1 18.25-ounce package chocolate cake store-bought or homemade
  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 bananas sliced
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • q.s. chocolate shavings for garnish
  • q.s. peanut butter chips for garnish

Instructions

  • Crumble the chocolate cake into bite-sized pieces and spread evenly at the bottom of your trifle bowl or individual serving glasses.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, softened cream cheese, and peanut butter; beat until smooth and creamy, then stir in vanilla extract.
  • Layer banana slices on top of the crumbled cake, followed by a generous layer of peanut butter filling. Repeat layers until the bowl is almost full, ending with whipped cream on top.
  • Garnish with chocolate shavings and peanut butter chips, then chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute dairy-free ingredients. Use ripe bananas for the best flavor and consider adding a drizzle of chocolate syrup or caramel for extra indulgence. If preparing ahead, assemble everything except the whipped cream, which should be added right before serving for optimal lightness.
