Ingredients

  • 2 cups grated coconut fresh or dehydrated
  • 1 can condensed milk approx. 395 g
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine the grated coconut, condensed milk, sugar, milk, butter, and a pinch of salt.
  • Place the pan over medium heat and stir constantly until the mixture thickens and starts to come away from the bottom of the pan.
  • Pour the thickened mixture into a greased square or rectangular mold and smooth the surface with a spatula.
  • Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm.
  • Once firm, cut into squares and optionally sprinkle additional grated coconut on top before serving.
