Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease two round cake pans.
  • Mix your cake batter according to the package instructions or your favorite from-scratch recipe.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the pans and bake in the oven.
  • While the cakes cool, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy for the frosting.

  • Once the cakes are completely cool, spread cookie dough frosting on top of one layer and place the second on top.
  • Frost the entire cake and sprinkle some chocolate chips on top.
  • Chill the cake for 30 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors.
