Ingredients

  • 400 g ladyfinger biscuits
  • 500 g mascarpone cheese
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 150 g sugar
  • 200 ml strong espresso coffee
  • 200 ml whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons Amaretto or rum optional
  • q.s. Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  • Beat the egg yolks with sugar until pale and creamy.
  • Gradually mix in the mascarpone until smooth.
  • Whip the cream until stiff peaks form and fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
  • Dunk the ladyfingers briefly into the coffee mixture and layer them in the dish.
  • Add a layer of the mascarpone cream on top of the biscuits and repeat the layers.
  • Chill the assembled tiramisu in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Before serving, sift cocoa powder over the top.

Notes

Use high-quality espresso and cocoa powder for the best flavor. Make sure to soak the ladyfingers quickly to avoid sogginess. The dessert is best chilled overnight to enhance the flavors.
