  • Spatula
  • 9-inch pie dish
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • q.s. chocolate shavings for garnish
  • 1 unit chocolate truffle for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Mix the graham cracker crumbs with melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand.
  • Press it into the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish to form an even layer.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown and let cool completely.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until silky smooth.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, stirring until well combined.
  • Pour this mixture over the cooled crust and spread it evenly.
  • Chill the cheesecake for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  • In a clean mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with cocoa powder until stiff peaks form.
  • Spread the chocolatey whipped cream over the chilled cheesecake layer.
  • Sprinkle chocolate shavings generously over the whipped cream and place a chocolate truffle in the center.
  • Return the cake to the fridge for at least an hour to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

Use room-temperature cream cheese for a smoother cheesecake layer.
Sift the cocoa powder to prevent lumps in the whipped cream.
Toast the graham cracker crumbs lightly before mixing with butter for added depth of flavor.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator covered with plastic wrap for up to 3 days or freeze in individual slices for up to a month.
If serving leftovers, chill after slicing to maintain structure and enjoy every decadent bite!
