Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding (3.4 oz)
  • 1/3 cup milk

Instructions

  • In a medium pot, bring the water, butter, and vanilla to a boil.
  • Add the flour and stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball and comes away from the sides of the pot.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Beat the eggs one by one into the cooled dough, mixing well after each addition.
  • Spoon the dough onto a parchment-lined baking tray, forming 8 large puffs.
  • Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 40 minutes.
  • Pierce the puffs with a toothpick and let them cool in the oven with the door ajar.
  • In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream, instant vanilla pudding, and milk until thick and creamy.
  • Cut the cooled puffs in half and fill them with the cream.
  • Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate.
