Mixing bowl
Loaf pan
Whisk or electric mixer
Spatula
Wire rack for cooling
- 200 g salted butter
- 4 pieces eggs
- 250 g sugar
- 300 g flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 100 ml milk
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a large bowl, melt the salted butter and let it cool slightly.
Add the sugar to the melted butter and mix well until smooth.
Beat the eggs one at a time into the butter and sugar mixture, mixing well after each addition.
Sift the flour and baking powder together. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in small batches, alternating with the milk, and mix gently until well combined.
Butter a loaf pan and pour the batter into it; tap the pan lightly on the counter to remove air bubbles.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
For a lactose-free version, use plant-based butter and milk. Enhance flavor with a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or wrap tightly and refrigerate for longer storage. For a touch of elegance, serve with a light dusting of powdered sugar or fresh berries.
