Ingredients

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 250 ml whole milk
  • 7 g active dry yeast
  • 100 g unsalted butter melted
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 egg beaten, for egg wash
  • pearl sugar for topping
  • 100 g softened butter for filling
  • 100 g brown sugar for filling
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon for filling

Instructions

  • Warm the milk until lukewarm. Pour into a mixing bowl, sprinkle yeast on top, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and cardamom. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter. Knead until smooth and elastic.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll out the dough and spread the filling evenly.
  • Roll the dough into a log and cut into 12 pieces. Shape into spirals, place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Enjoy the heavenly aroma and taste!
