- 100 g sugar
- 250 g flour
- 1 piece egg
- 125 g softened butter
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- a pinch salt
- to taste spices (cinnamon, ginger, etc.)
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg and vanilla sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and your choice of spices.
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until a smooth dough forms.
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 5 mm (1/4 inch) thick and cut out desired shapes with cookie cutters.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly golden.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
For an extra flavor twist, consider adding a bit of orange zest or almond extract.
Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze them for up to 3 months.
Experiment with your favorite spices and consider adding nuts or chocolate chips for added texture and flavor.
