- 1 loaf Italian bread
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese grated
- 3 cloves garlic finely chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cut the Italian bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet cut side up.
In a bowl, mix the softened butter, parmesan, mozzarella, chopped garlic, fresh parsley, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Spread the garlic and cheese mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
(Optional) Switch the oven to broil and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes for extra crispiness.
Remove from the oven, cut into slices, and serve hot.
For a healthier option, substitute butter with olive oil. Feel free to use different cheeses like cheddar or provolone for varied flavors. This bread stores well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and can be frozen for up to 3 months.
