Equipment

  • Blender
  • Food Processor (or a rolling pin and a plastic bag)
  • Frozen Mugs or Mason Jars
  • Whisk for the whipped cream

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1.5 cups Milk
  • 2 teaspoons Peppermint Extract use 1 teaspoon for a milder mint flavor
  • 4 Broken Candy Canes or 6 Peppermints
  • q.s. Pink Food Coloring optional
  • q.s. Whipped Cream

Instructions

  • Add the vanilla ice cream, milk, and peppermint extract to your blender. Blend on high until smooth and creamy.
  • If desired, add about 3 drops of pink food coloring and blend until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the milkshake into frozen mugs or mason jars.
  • Crush the candy canes or peppermints in a food processor or in a plastic bag using a rolling pin.
  • Top the milkshakes with whipped cream and sprinkle with crushed candy canes or peppermints.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra special touch, rim the glasses with a mixture of crushed candy canes and melted chocolate before pouring in the milkshake.
If you prefer a lighter mint flavor, start with 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract and adjust to taste.
Chill your glasses in the freezer for at least 15 minutes before serving to keep the milkshake colder for longer.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer and consume within one or two days. A quick stir or re-blend can restore its creamy consistency.
