- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 cups granulated sugar
- 0.75 cups unsalted butter (softened)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups buttercream frosting store-bought or homemade
- food coloring gel (optional)

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cream the softened butter with the sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Mix in the vanilla extract.
