Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Ice cream maker
  • Sharp knife
  • Airtight container
  • Glass measuring cup

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 pint half-and-half cream
  • 1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 12 oz. can evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups whole milk adjust as needed

Instructions

  • Dice the peaches and toss them with granulated sugar; let sit for about 20 minutes to macerate.
  • In a large mixing bowl, blend half-and-half, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract until smooth; fold in the peach mixture.
  • Pour the peach mixture into the ice cream maker's pre-chilled freezer container; add whole milk to fill the container.
  • Follow the ice cream maker's instructions to churn and freeze the mixture for 20-30 minutes; transfer to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours for a firmer consistency.

Notes

Use the ripest peaches for the best flavor. If peaches aren't ripe, leave them at room temperature for a day or two.
Skipping the maceration step may result in less flavorful ice cream, so be patient!
To avoid ice crystals, always cover the ice cream with parchment paper before sealing.
For a delicious twist, you can sprinkle some cinnamon on top before serving for added depth of flavor. Enjoy your refreshing summer treat!
