Ingredients

  • 250 g mascarpone cheese
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 1 cup strong brewed espresso or coffee cooled
  • 2 tbsp coffee liqueur optional
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 24 units ladyfinger cookies (savoiardi)
  • q.s. unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  • Mix the cooled espresso with coffee liqueur in a shallow dish. Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the mixture and arrange in the bottom of your serving dish.
  • In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth. Spread half over the ladyfingers.
  • Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture. Dust with cocoa powder and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
