Ingredients

  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 150 g butter
  • 150 g sugar
  • 4 pieces eggs
  • 100 g flour
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • a pinch salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Melt the chocolate and butter in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly.
  • Beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla sugar in a large bowl until light and frothy.
  • Gently fold the melted chocolate and butter into the egg mixture until just combined.
  • Add the flour and a pinch of salt to the chocolate mixture and fold in carefully.
  • Pour the batter into a greased and floured mold, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
  • Let the cake rest for a few minutes before carefully removing it from the pan.

Notes

This cake is best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat leftovers in the microwave for a few seconds to restore the molten texture.
