Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer or whisk
  • Baking tray
  • Parchment paper
  • Wire cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts) Pecans or walnuts work best.
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with the granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Pour in the condensed milk and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  • Add the flour, salt, and chopped nuts, stirring gently until the dough comes together.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared tray, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake the cookies for 12 to 15 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.
  • Once done, remove the tray from the oven and let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Dust the cooled cookies generously with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different nuts like almonds or hazelnuts for a twist. To keep cookies fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can freeze the unbaked dough balls for future baking—no need to thaw before baking! For added flavor, toast the nuts before chopping them.
