  • Whisk or electric mixer
  • Kitchen knife and cutting board
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 3 medium apples (red or green)
  • 200 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 150 g sugar
  • 100 g butter at room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 120 ml milk
  • a pinch salt
  • q.s. glass sugar to decorate optional

Instructions

  • Peel and slice the apples, cutting most into small pieces and reserving a few slices for decoration.
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking mold with butter, sprinkling flour to prevent sticking.
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter with sugar until creamy, then add eggs one by one, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla essence.
  • In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Fold in apple pieces.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared mold and arrange reserved apple slices on top. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the mold for 10 minutes before unmolding onto a cooling rack. Sprinkle with glass sugar for decoration.
