- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 8 oz white chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- q.s. red food coloring to taste
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream (for whipped cream)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for whipped cream)
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar (for whipped cream)
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup (for sugar blood)
- 1/2 cup water (for sugar blood)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for sugar blood)
- q.s. red gel food coloring (for sugar blood) to taste
In the bowl of a mixer, add 1 cup heavy cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon granulated sugar. Whip until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan, combine 3 cups whole milk, 1 cup heavy cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 8 ounces chopped white chocolate, and 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring until melted and starting to simmer. Stir in a drop of red food coloring.
Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream.
In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup light corn syrup and 1/2 cup water. Add 1 cup granulated sugar and heat on medium without stirring until it reaches 300°F.
Once at 300°F, add red gel food coloring and stir. Let cool slightly, then dip mugs rims in the mixture to coat.
This Spooky Vampire Cocoa is also perfect for cozy nights or fall gatherings. You can substitute whole milk with a non-dairy alternative if desired.
