  • Silicone donut mold
  • Small pot for heating jam

Ingredients

  • 90 g melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 120 ml whole milk
  • 250 g wheat flour
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 240 ml refrigerated milk cream (chilled for at least 8 hours)
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence (for cream)
  • a pinch salt (for cream)
  • 30 g icing sugar
  • 1000 g whole, clean, and washed strawberries
  • 120 g strawberry jam

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, vanilla essence, and milk.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ones until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into a silicone donut mold and bake for 10 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let the donuts cool before unmolding.
  • For the chantilly cream, make sure the milk cream has been refrigerated for at least 8 hours.
  • Place a medium bowl over a larger bowl filled with ice and cold water; add cold milk cream, a pinch of salt, and whip until it starts to thicken.
  • Mix in vanilla essence and icing sugar; continue to whip until firm peaks form.
  • In a small pot, heat the strawberry jam over medium heat until it melts into a glossy syrup.
  • Optional: chop some strawberries and fold them into the jam for texture.
  • Carefully slice each donut in half horizontally.
  • Spread a generous layer of chantilly cream on the bottom half, followed by a spoonful of the strawberry-jam mixture.
  • Top with the other half of the donut and press gently to secure.
  • Arrange finished donuts on a platter and serve immediately.

Notes

Experiment with different jams for the filling, such as raspberry or apricot, for a unique twist. Store assembled donuts in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 days; keep fillings separate if possible to maintain freshness. For long-term storage, freeze unfilled donuts wrapped individually and thaw at room temperature before serving. Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor; a little extra effort can make a significant difference!
