Ingredients

  • 75 g butter
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 200 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp milk (optional) optional for dough
  • 7 apples peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 unit lemon juice
  • 600 ml apple juice
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 packets vanilla sugar
  • 75 g sugar
  • 100 ml apple juice for thickening
  • 2 packets vanilla pudding powder
  • 300 ml cream
  • 1.5 packets cream stiffener
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • q.s. cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  • Mix butter, sugar, egg, flour, and baking powder until smooth dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough and press it into a greased springform pan lined with baking paper.
  • Peel, core, and cut apples into chunks, then drizzle with lemon juice.
  • Heat 600ml apple juice, 75g sugar, and cinnamon in a saucepan until boiling, then add apples and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Mix vanilla pudding powder with a bit of juice and stir into the apple mixture to thicken.
  • Pour apple mixture onto the prepared crust and spread evenly.
  • Bake in the oven at 175°C (350°F) for 60 minutes.
  • Let the pie cool completely before adding the cream topping.
  • Whip cream with cream stiffener and vanilla sugar until stiff peaks form, then spread over the cooled apple layer.
  • Dust lightly with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

For a nutty flavor, sprinkle chopped nuts like almonds or walnuts over the filling before baking. Cool the pie for at least 30 minutes before serving to ensure clean slices. Store leftovers in the fridge covered loosely or in an airtight container. Best enjoyed within 2-3 days. For freezing, omit the cream topping and add it after thawing.
